Evaluation of Voice & Swallowing
Disorders
We perform the following in-office evaluations on adults, as well as children, under local anesthesia. All studies are video recorded and reviewed with patients immediately upon completion.
Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing with Sensory Testing (FEESST)
Indications and Benefits
- Evaluation for the presence of Reflux Laryngitis
- Evaluation of swallowing difficulty following a stroke, as well as other Neurologic disorders
- Evaluation of swallowing difficulty in individuals who may be at risk for aspiration
Transnasal Esophagoscopy (TNE)
Indications and Benefits
- Endoscopic, visual examination of the esophagus for a variety of disorders including Barrett’s esophagus, and acid reflux disease
- Screening evaluation for esophageal cancer
Video Laryngeal Stroboscopy
Indications and Benefits
- The standard in evaluating voice disorders, including hoarseness and a weak voice
- The "voice test performed on opera singers"
